yacht le reve

We are either coming out of hibernation or back from vacation. Airing out the yachts and checking the To Do List preparing for your vacation. Various technical experts may be employed ensuring both safety and aesthetics will surpass average standards ready for our next charter season. After the technicians leave, it is spit and polish all the way to sparkling and gleaming ready to welcome brokers aboard for the white glove inspection. The brokers are your eyes and ears for snapshots and crew vignettes on style and personalities. Matching crews with clients is a fine art and while the adaptability of the crew helps, sometimes dovetailing the level of experience, worldliness and maturity of the crew ensures a better fit. Members of Regency Yacht Fleet will be at all 3 Caribbean shows, perhaps newly renovated and to get reacquainted with brokers. Regency Brokers will be there too, with ipads and notepads in hand, refreshing our database of inside knowledge to share the uniqueness of each charter yacht with prospective clients.

The usual competitions will have the crews vying for bragging rights to be the best boat in their division and even bigger boasting brownie points if they scoop the award for Best Boat in Show. I can’t speak for you, but it is all about food for me. Luckily, our invites for brokers lunch aboard slate is full. Literally, a dress rehearsal for the crew to satisfy all 5 senses: the taste of the gourmet food courses, touch – the feel of the napkins, the flatware, the texture of the tastes, smell – the aromas, see – the visual appeal of the plated dishes, and hear – the interaction between the crew. Now if I could just reposition myself as the person with the perfect palate to be continually pleased and wear a Judges Badge for the Culinary Contests ……..all would be right with the world. Perhaps not, but I could be like the pied piper leading other foodies to the most tantalizing tidbits offered at the show. All washed down by designer water from the boats entering the water contest, in a concerted effort to keep it going green and cut down on single use plastic water bottles.
