A perfect week with this BVI sailing itinerary. Short sails between islands in enclosed waters ensures the sailing is enjoyable for everyone.
Day 1: Fly into Beef Island where your crew will meet you at nearby Trellis Bay. You’ll be taken aboard your yacht, shown around and settled in with a Caribbean cocktail. Take some time to get acquainted with the crew and go over your expectations for the trip.
Day 2: Following an early breakfast, sail to the southern tip of Virgin Gorda where you’ll find the Baths. The Baths are a true wonder of nature. Huge boulders are strewn about creating caves, walkways, and crystal clear pools perfect for a snorkeling adventure. Best to visit morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds. Continue up the coast of Virgin Gorda to the North Sound. This is a great place for windsurfing, waterskiing and tubing. The expanse of water here is well protected by reefs that not only ensure calm waters, but also provide fantastic snorkeling. Visit the various resorts in the area.
Day 3: Set sail for Anegada where there is nothing but long miles of beach to walk, reefs to snorkel, shipwrecks to explore and lobster to eat. Sailing is done in bright sunlight to pick out the unmarked coral heads that pop up as you approach the island.
Day 4: Start south to Norman Island — the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. The caves are located here with lots to see inside and out. Then sail around the corner to the Bight where you can have a quiet dinner on board, or visit the The Willy T – a floating bar and restaurant.
Day 5: No trip to the Virgin Islands is complete without a stop at Jost Van Dyke. Sail to White Bay and swim ashore to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Then continue around to Great Harbour, home of the legendary Foxy’s. Some afternoons Foxy himself is on hand singing Calypso songs.
Day 6: Sail around to Sandy Spit, an idyllic uninhabited Caribbean Island. Sail along the North shore of Tortola. Stop at Guana Island and snorkel Monkey point to see the huge Tarpon.
Day 7: Sail back to Trellis Bay and off to the airport. Bringing back sun kissed skin and great memories.
**NOTE: This is just one example of a BVI Itinerary. Each one is tailored for the yachts guests based on their desired activities, port of pick up and disembarkment and of course weather.
