A popular builder of luxury catamarans is the Privilege Shipyard begun in France in 1989. During this time they built a number of large sailing catamarans starting with the 615 model with its owner layout with three queen cabins as well as the later 62 version with 4 equal guest cabins plus crew quarters.
The design put an emphasis on an easily driven hull and more performance sailing in lighter winds than many other catamarans. Each of these cats features warm varnished woodwork as well as custom stainless trim with lots of curves creating an elegant interior space. The large cockpit space is ideal for meals, conversation and lounging, while forward the trampolines encourage guests to stretch out over the waves while under sail.
An advantage to having a number of similar yachts is that larger groups of friends or families can charter similar yachts for a tandem charter where the fleet can race from one harbor to the next and meet up for cocktails at the end of the day. It’s a great way to travel together while still having your own space.
We have several of these cats that we can whole heartedly recommend to clients – they can be booked individually or sail in tandem if you choose.
Award winning yacht and crew Anastasia is a 615 model with its master suite forward plus two queen cabins or try her sistership Elysium, which is available in the BVI or from St. Marten. Each of these cats cater to a maximum of 6 guests.
Xenia 62 has the 4 cabin arrangement (8 guests) plus crew quarters and is available this winter with English crew Matt & Tara in the BVI.
Stunning views from the top deck steering station, fast and fun under sail, these Privilege cats are the perfect way to blow away the winter time blues.
