CAPTAIN Michael Dameron & CHEF Tyler Ha-Sunico
Captain Michael Dameron
Captain Michael brings a rare blend of hands‑on seamanship, technical skill, and calm leadership to every vessel he steps aboard. A 200‑Ton Master Captain with more than six years of experience on day‑sailing and charter vessels, he’s spent the last three years as a vessel Master—rising through the ranks from Deckhand to Captain and commanding boats up to 80 feet across inland waterways and offshore routes. His background is broad and practical: fiberglass work, rigging, shipyard project management, and the full spectrum of onboard maintenance, from electronics and HVAC to plumbing, outboards, and marine diesel engines.
He’s captained traditional wooden schooners on the East Coast, leading teams of up to twelve sailing crew with a steady hand and a clear head. As a dive instructor, he brings an additional layer of safety awareness and ocean familiarity that strengthens his overall command presence.
Now stepping into the charter catamaran world, Michael is eager to apply his experience to Gryfalcon—getting her dialed in below deck while helping build a strong, reliable program over time. His work ethic is unwavering, his standards are high, and above all, he carries a positive attitude that lifts the entire team around him.
Chef - Tyler Ha-Sunico
For Chef Ty, the kitchen has always been a place of connection. Inspired by the communal spirit of his Filipino heritage and early years spent in his family’s kitchen, Ty crafts meals designed to evoke nostalgia and warmth. With over six years of international experience, Ty’s culinary style is a sophisticated blend of technical precision and creative innovation.
His journey has taken him from the rigours of French fine dining to the heart of Italy, where he trained at the prestigious ALMA Scuola Internazionale and apprenticed under a master butcher. This diverse background allows him to seamlessly pivot between classic French techniques—such as intricate gastriques and emulsions—and modern, ingredient-driven styles.
A graduate of George Brown College, Ty is a lifelong student of his craft, constantly refining recipes to ensure every plate is an unforgettable experience. His deep-rooted love for the ocean, born from summers on the coast and a natural affinity for the water, makes the galley his natural home. Whether preparing a multi-course tasting menu or a refined seaside lunch, Chef Ty brings a world of flavour and a dedicated heart to every voyage.
Stewardess/Deckhand Cova
Originally from Málaga, Spain, Cova has been working in the yachting industry for several years, with experience on sailing yachts, superyachts, and charter vessels. She has crossed the Atlantic and sailed throughout the Caribbean islands, the US East Coast, and Canada, and loves sharing her passion for the ocean with guests.
With experience in both deck operations and hospitality, Cova enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere on board and making sure guests feel comfortable and well looked after. As a qualified Divemaster, she also loves introducing guests to the underwater world, exploring beautiful anchorages, and helping them make the most of their time in the Caribbean.
In her free time, Cova enjoys diving, exploring new places, staying active, and training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Qualifications: RYA Yachtmaster Coastal (Sail), RYA Day Skipper (Motor), RYA Powerboat Level 2, PADI Divemaster, STCW, ENG1, RYA Personal Watercraft, VHF, PPR, and Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2.

There are only a few times in life when you can get together with dear friends to enjoy a life experience. This was absolutely one of the best times that we have shared. The weather cooperated. The Gyrfalcon was more than comfortable. With ample spaces to relax and play 😊. Angela’s food was amazing! Mafalda took great care of us. And, Syl is the captain extraordinaire! What a wonderful trip. The accommodations were excellent! The food was awesome. We will be dieting for months after this trip! Despite the weather we had a blast and you all were so accommodating. We loved the water toys! Thank you fo0r this amazing trip!<br />
