Your hosts Frank and Denise have given us an amazing itinerary for a Spanish Virgin Islands charter.

Day 1 – Meet Ocean Jedi at Puerto Del Rey Marina in Fajardo then spend the rest of the day visiting Old San Juan’s forts, exploring the rain forest or trying the zip line.

Day 2- After breakfast we set sail for Melones Point. Culebra’s vibe is more like that of the U.S. Virgin Islands than the Spanish Virgins. Melones Point is a great place to spend the day snorkeling, diving, or taking a quick dinghy ride into the town of Dewey where you will find quaint shops and waterfront bars and restaurants. Return to Ocean Jedi for appetizers and sundowners as we watch the sun set from Ocean Jedi’s sundeck.

Day 3- After a lovely breakfast Ocean Jedi will set sail for Dakity where you can spend the day exploring the reef system in kayaks, on paddle boards or snorkeling. Dakity is a comfortable anchorage that lies behind the reef in Ensenada Honda on the south side of Culebra.

On day 4- we will head off to Culebrita, which is an uninhabited island and is the home to the Jacuzzis and the oldest lighthouse in the Caribbean. A short hike up to the lighthouse provides breath-taking views of the reef surrounding Culebrita, as well as views of the islands of Vieques and St. Thomas. After your hike nothing feels better than cooling off in the Jacuzzis, enjoying a swim with turtles or relaxing on the beautiful white sand beach in Bahia de Tortuga.

Day 5- The morning is spent sailing to Ensenada Honda on Vieques. This quiet anchorage is truly a sailor’s paradise. After lunch take the kayaks into the many canals to explore the mangroves and enjoy the many birds that live there, as well as creatures you will find below the surface. Mangroves are home to many juvenile fish and are considered the nursery. There are a couple of great snorkeling spots at the entrance of the bay where you will find a wide variety of aquatic life. We often spend a quiet evening in Ensenada Honda as many times we are the only boat in the anchorage.

Day 6- starts with a short sail to Bahia Esperanza where you will find a quaint little town full of fun. This little town is always buzzing. There are great waterfront bars and restaurants. A DO NOT MISS adventure includes a tour of the Bio-luminescent Bay. These are kayak tours into Mosquito Bay where the water sparkles due to the bio-luminescence created by the red mangroves, shallow bay, and narrow inlet. This Bay is included in the Guinness Book of World Records as containing the most bio-luminescence found anywhere in the world. Esperanza is one of our favorite places and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Day 7- The morning is spent sailing to Isla Los Palominos where you can spend the day on a palm tree lined, white sand beach, or taking the kayaks and paddle boards out to Isla Palimonitos which has a beautiful beach to explore.

Day 8 – After breakfast sail back to Puerto Del Rey Marina for guest departure.
