Meet Captain Rico van Rooyen, a South African captain whose sailing journey started in 2023. As a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster offshore he loves to sail and explore the water that surrounds him. His career is a testament to his dedication to excellence, with a focus on delivering top-quality service. Rico's passion for sailing goes beyond the professional realm; it reflects his genuine connection to the ocean and the joy of sharing that experience with others. Growing up next to the water, Rico spent a lot of time on boats doing water sports where he gained vast knowledge in this area. This is where Rico found his love for being on the water and knew he would excel in this industry.

At 18 years of age, he mastered Italian cuisine at a prestigious restaurant in La Grande Motte. His adventurous spirit led him to explore Spanish, Caboverdian, and Caribbean flavors during a remarkable journey from the South of France to the Caribbean on his own boat. Now, combining his love for the sea and cooking, Mathis brings his creative and diverse culinary expertise to the yachting world.
