The Dalmatian Coast

The crew of Kings Ransom are ready for another spectacular Med season and have sent out this great newsletter that we want to share. They explain beautifully why you should explore the Dalmatian coast as your next destination charter aboard their luxury catamaran.

King's Ransom“It’s time for Kings Ransom to get ready for this summer season!!!

After a winter resting in Valencia we are off once again to steer guests through the delights of the Adriatic and jewels of the Dalmatian Islands

Last summer we made a home for ourselves in Majestic Montenegro with the luxurious Porto Montenegro as our Marina base. Such an incredible place to explore with Kotor (a UNESCO site) and it’s magnificent walled city a must see on the itinerary list.

With good flights in to Dubrovnik, and a personal transfer to the marina, guests join Kings Ransom in Tivat to begin their charter. The smooth sail out of the Kotor lakes takes us past mountains, disused submarine docks and local fishermen in their traditional boats, and out into the Adriatic. A scenic sail up the coast leads into the crystal clear waters of Croatia and from here on we hop through the islands, dip into quiet anchorages and explore coves, all in the presence of such beauty, nature and serenity. An endless meandering coast line and an abundance of islands make this a dream charter ground. Each island shares it own history, rich culture and diversity with visitors alike, offering specialty foods, wines and festivities throughout the summer. Although different to the Caribbean, the Dalmatian Islands have soon become our second home; one which we are made to feel welcome in and are delighted to be chartering again.

A choice of final destinations such as Dubrovnik, Hvar or Split enables us to tailor the charter to compliment any itinerary. This includes direct drops to airports via personal transfer or private ferry service to make the most of the island time”

In their second season on the Dalmatian Coast, your crew are able to adapt all charters to work with your needs. Join your yacht in Montenegro and explore the stunning UNESCO city of Kotor with it’s marbled streets and impressive walled walk. Take the afternoon to relax on board whilst you sail to Cavtat, take a refreshing dip, sip cocktails and watch the sunset from the decks of Kings Ransom.

Take an afternoon swim in the lakes and enjoy a sunset dinner in Melitta on the tiny island in the centre of the biggest lake. Enjoy your liqueur on board under the stars and in tune with nature. Perhaps you’re brave enough to try a sip of the Croatian brandies – orahovac (walnut) or maraschino (cherry)? Or, try the less potent Prosec, Croatia’s delicious dessert wine.

Your charter will also take you to Vis town, looking out for dolphins. As you get closer you’ll see the canons on the top of the hill, a reminder of Vis’s wartime importance. Anchor in the deep, protected bay and take in the magnificent spectacle of the mountains, fortresses and the stately buildings. Perhaps take a dive and discover some of the many Greek and Roman relics that tell Croatia’s history. Or hire a car and drive around the island, exploring the wine cellars and historical monuments, or take a trip to Tito’s wartime cave headquarters. Explore the spectacular blue cave at its best just before noon when the sun is shining. Enjoy the freshest of lobsters or octopus at Konoba Bako and admire the collection of ancient relics that owner Tonko Borcic has recovered from his 30 years of diving in the area. End with a stroll around Komiza and explore this lovely fishing village and watch the world go by over a drink on-board.
